Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said: “Once the tongue ceases to engage in Allāh’s remembrance, then it will only tell lies, spew profanity, and constantly engage in idle talk.” [Tashīl al-lImām, vol. 1, pg. 505.]
